I prefer the taste of trout, although when it's smoked and/or salted it tastes the same to me.

Yeah the trout is part of the salmon family and the meat looks similar, especially here, where they're often around the same size.

My favourite smoked fish is still cold-smoked haddock, but outside Scotland it seems to be hard to find.
