While I am glad to be here, with heavy heart I would like to let you know that Mars Man (or Oliver Carter in real life) has passed away.

I am not sure if many of you remember him, but he was a ray of sunshine.

Reply to hyena in petticoat {{{hyena}}} My thoughts are with you as I know how absolutely fond he was of you~
MarsMan or Oli and I exchanged ideas at length, the possibilities that came about from this thread and after reading thru it, I realize that he now knows the truth. Maybe he will find us here...I believe if anyone could, it would be him.
{{{Oli}}} May your soul continue to light up the world in the colorful way you always did in our lives~

Reply to hyena in petticoatThanks for letting us know, hyena. It's good to hear from you, though I'm sorry that this was the occasion for it. I hope all is well with you and yours.

I am sorry to hear it, and I hope the best for his loves and family in a trying time. He will be missed. [though I personally never really interacted much with him, I did know him just by being in this circle of folk]

Cheers Mars Man. I only have Chivas Regal, but at least one is for you.

He was clearly a kind man, and that is one of the highest compliments that I know to pay. He made a difference to me, and I feel sorrow for those who were closest to him.

I'm glad that I had the opportunity to interact with him via an online forum such as this.

Rest in peace, Mars Man.

I did a quick Google search and found that Mars Man/Oliver Carter was active in a number of forums. One of his close friends provided a good bit of detail about his life and the sort of person he was. You can read about it here: http://www.jref.com/forum/threads/rest-in-peace-mars-man.58490/

Reply to bert1 Let us please attempt to be precise in phrasing these questions with the proper attention being paid to the meaning which must be revealed on closer inspection and diligence to the words we apply.

Mars Man is gone, but never forgotten.

Thank you for this Hanover. It's been over a year but still good to get to read the great life Oli has shared with those who knew him personally.

Reply to hyena in petticoat Hyena! I'm so glad you're back. Are you here to stay this time, are you going to mosey on again?

Such a golden soul, a one of a kind, a man so gentle, like few I have known. Thank you for coloring the Heavens for us~

So sad. So many good people die too young while so many continue being useless until ripe old ages.

I only talked a few times with him, but he was someone to respect.

RIP MarsMan
