How to get unblackpilled?

Hello friends,
Life was very nice when you knew that one side of the political aisle were the baddies, who spoil everything and the other side are the goodies, who rescue everything worth rescuing, though a bit cringe and annoying at times.

Yet seeing the current events unfold in Ukraine, the perceived good guys, like Rand Paul, Marjory Taylor Greene and such are actively siding with Putin, doing all they can to block or at least delay military aid for Ukraine, offering very lame excuses like "oh, we cannot send howitzers & Javelins because we have a baby formula shortage"... what is wrong with those people?

Logically I understand that one should not evaluate the whole conservative movement by a bunch of 'bad apples', yet emotionally seeing such squealing nutjobs and their supporters kinda discredits the whole movement.

Most political issues are objectively more subtle than bad guys good guys. The nutjobs you mention are taking their pro-Putin stance on orders from their leader, the son of Putin who still controls the Republicans from his Florida beach hideaway. Voldemort is tending his flock, waiting for his chance to make Russia great again in 2024.

Reply to M777 What you're doing is understanding life is not black and white. There is nothing wrong with holding conservative or liberal values. What is wrong is holding values that do not help or actively harm the world.

The other is to realize politics should not be an identity. You are not a Democrat or a Republican. You vote the candidate who best realizes positive principles that help people the most, whether they be Republican or Democrat, conservative or liberal.

The nut jobs on the right are no better than the nut jobs on the left. Arguably at this moment in history, the nut jobs on the right have more power and influence than those on the left. Arguably, they are also more dangerous to average people. But that does not negate the conservative principles you hold dear. It does not negate the good Republican candidates.

If anything, hold the lesson that you should be weary of those you don't support, but be even more weary of those you do support. Watch their actions, not their words. And never identify with a person or a party. Identify with principles.

I doubt many here on the forum see these as the good guys. I certainly don't.

As a registered Democrat, I think this is a naive way of seeing things. A member of Congress is not just one person. They are a member of a delegation. The larger delegation controls legislation and approval of judges and other federal appointments.

I realize this as well. But I would rather the coalition not have power than a corrupt and horrible individual be part of it. The alternative is accepting a man like Trump.

Isn’t “black-pill” some incel shit?

It might be best to avoid guilt by association.

Reply to magritte To be honest that's kinda questionable. So far a 2 year investigation came up empty handed, so chanced are it all was a bunk. Also Mitch just visited Kyiv, so we can assume Rand Paul and MTG, as well as a few other with a similar stance, are just separate nutjobs, who do not reflect the overall stance of the party. :)

Black-pill is one step on the way back to reality.

"In addition to red pill language, incels discuss the “black pill,” which means accepting the fact that “it's over” and “inferior” men have no chance of ever establishing sexual relationships with women. As such, the community is defined by the relationship between heterosexual sex and masculine status."

Fucking hell... where did humanity take the wrong turn?

Are you serious? What kind of reality is that?

Reply to Hillary Typically on leaving a cult the ex-member will go through a period of despair before beginning to put their life back together.

Of course, not everyone takes the next step.

A black pill is a cold turkey? I mean, the realization that most you learned, most that is taken for granted, most the books tellya, most that is being discussed by experts, most that is so-called objectively true, is just part a story told, seems like a soothing substance is taken away from you instantly. Father appeared to be a mortal after all... Like the expert, the professor, the pope, the tyrant, the head of police, and the idol, not to mention gods...
