Whence, whither, why

I was wondering what we mean when we use words like "meaning" and "end". The end of sexuality seems to be reproduction, but the meaning appears to be love. This may be my culturally influenced viewpoint though. !Could evolution be about love and reproduction a side effect?! It seems that we have to first clarify what we mean by "meaning" and "end". They are often used is different ways through different systems of thought, and are also at times synonymous. Perhaps if we focus of language itself we can avoid the pitfall of complete cultural relativism
