What can I learn from Charles Sanders Peirce?
Hi,
Several writers have suggested to me that I read some of Peirce's writings. The question that is On my mind today is how objects interact. There is force and energy. I.am not sure which is greater or how they are the same. If I get in a fender bender, I feel force. Descartes would tell me I felt only the atoms of the car. If force is a way ofg speaking about an object, where does that leave energy?
Where can I get works by him on the philosophy of nature is what I am basically asking. Thank you

As an "amateur" philosopher, if any have good articles, talks, lectures etc. that can be linked about Peirce, I would also love them. I have heard the problem is that he didn't publish much.
Besides, Peirce is one of those philosophers that the USA has contributed to the World.
I'm not sure he published anything, but I'm under the impression his private writings have been out together in many volumes. I'm a book person and not adapt at surfing the internet
Call the Green Apple bookstore in San Francisco, California. If you're lucky, they'll have something in their rare books collection. A few years back they had several volumes of some extremely rare set or other.
She sums it up in this youtube lecture - https://youtu.be/nQuNWNjYcVY
ISBN: 0253207215 if you want to go hard copy. This volume includes The Monist essays.
His later writings - on signs and Pragmatism in particular - are in Volume 2 (ISBN: B005DI95GO)

A unique thinker who had his differences with other classical pragmatists, James in particular. Dewey he came to respect, eventually, in some respects at least.
If you want to read Peirce's own writings, I would definitely start with the two volumes of The Essential Peirce. The tables of contents and introductions to both volumes, along with the headnotes for all the selections in Volume 2, are online at https://peirce.iupui.edu/edition.html. Besides the two websites that mentioned, another worth checking out is http://www.commens.org/.
As for the secondary literature, my favorite overview is The Continuity of Peirce's Thought by Kelly A. Parker. Another decent option is Peirce: A Guide for the Perplexed by Cornelis de Waal. A shorter treatment that focuses mainly on metaphysics is Charles Peirce's Guess at the Riddle by John K. Sheriff.
Thanks for the names of the books and the given links!
