What are ethics, is it a human construction or part of ourselves and ethic in our society

What are ethics
I have discussed with many people about what ethics are and have recieved a veriaty of answers which cant be connected one to each other. By defenition ethics are the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation or a theory or system of moral values, but this is too general to answer my question. In my opinion ethic is the person we want to see in our sociaty and the desire to be him. This person, who for us is the ideal representation of ourself, charactaristics are our or morals which we try to follow in order to reach our goal to be this person.
