A Defense of Moral Relativism

One of the most important philosophical debates throught the centuries has been based on the question of whether we can possibly have an objective morality or not, or Moral Objectivism vs Moral Relativism. Thinkers from time immemorial have tried to establish a science on morality, to be able to objectively and truthfully say that some things are right and others are wrong, in a way similar to the way in which we say that gravity exists. Unfortunately, this has until now, been a largely unsuccessful enterprise, much to the benefit of moral relativists. Moral Relativism is the philosophical viewpoint that claims that there is no such thing as objective value statements, and that every ethical judgement we make, is only true relative to the particular moral framework adopted, i.e. religion, culture, upbringing, etc.
