Username change?

Buxtebuddha July 29, 2017 at 02:49 6200 views 40 comments
Is it possible for someone to change their username? I don't see an option inside my profile. I suppose a moderator/administrator could change, no?

Only if you provide a valid reason for the identity change, and it is approved by 50% of the PF membership (excluding Rich and Thanatos Sand - their opinions don't matter)

Reply to Buxtebuddha I got Dietrich Buxtehude right away, but why not Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf? Some people just like saying the name all by itself.

I haven't felt bitter-crankish for quite a while. Any suggestions of what I might change my name to?

I believe it is a composite of 'Buxtehude' (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dieterich_Buxtehude) and 'Buddha'. Perhaps Shyster Eggfart is fond of organs. ;)

Edit: I see BC beat me to it.

I'm sure Meister Eckhart was, O:) (Y)

Edit: Also, I'll be honest, I read organs as "orgasms."

I'm reminded of a silly old joke about the priest chasing the altar boy in the chapel; after much chasing up and down the aisles and almost breathless exertion, he finally caught him around the organ. >:O

The two may be closely related; so it's an easy mistake.

Sometimes I feel like changing my username to Hugh Manatee or perhaps Hugh Jarse, but luckily I soon come to my senses.

Reply to John Some Lutherans have orgasms listening to the tubular pipe organs. Part of their edifice complex.

Which is "plain and boring": wanting to change my username to HM or HJ or coming to my senses? :s

Edit: I thought "Why John"? was a typo and was intended to be "Why, John"? But now I think you meant to say that "John" is plain and boring. True, perhaps, but that was the name I entered on the joining form as my actual name, not as the name I intended to have as a username; and I never thought it was possible to change it until now, and now I'm not sure I could be bothered..

Very interesting how the mind of a supposed life-long celibate in his case functions :P
