Are people "suffering" from Cotard's "delusion" buddhas (vide patikulamanasikara)?
Cotard's delusion, also known as walking corpse syndrome or Cotard's syndrome, is a rare mental disorder in which the affected person holds the delusional belief that they are dead, do not exist (anatta), are putrefying, or have lost their blood or internal organs.

In contemporary translations, the compound term pa?ikk?la-manasik?ra is generally translated as "reflections on repulsiveness" or, adding contextual clarity at the expense of literal accuracy, "reflections on repulsiveness of the body". Alternate translations include "attention directed to repulsiveness" and "realisation of the impurity of the body".
