Can you integrate without knowing how to differentiate?

The question is both sociological and mathematical.

In mathematics, the answer is clear, in sociology the answer is more complex, which raises another question. Namely, what is sociology so much more complex and why is it perceived as an 'easy' field?

So, getting to the point from a sociological perspective as the answer is more pleasing to the wondering mind, can you integrate without differentiating?
